The London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, which is responsible for Northwick Park Hospital, as well as Ealing Hospital and Central Middlesex Hospital, has paid out over £5 million in compensation to patients due to misdiagnosis claims since 2019.

Between 2019 and 2024, a total of 18 misdiagnosis claims were filed against the Trust, with 16 being settled. The financial impact of these claims is substantial, with the Trust paying out £5,141,383 in compensation during this period.
The year 2021/22 saw the highest annual payout, reaching £4,381,665.
The data, obtained by Medical Negligence Assist, indicates that misdiagnosis of cancer was a recurring issue, featuring in five cases and resulting in £375,000 in compensation.
The number of claims varied year by year, with 2019/20 and 2023/24 recording the highest number at six claims each, while 2020/21 saw the lowest, with only one claim.
